Tosca kake er ikkje oppkalla etter nokon komponist. Tosca Pladsec som kom til Årdal frå Jugoslavia på 50-talet, vann på slutten av 50-talet ein konkurranse i Norsk ukeblad med denne kaka. Kaka har namn etter ho. Tosca var italiensk og mannen var jugoslav. Dei måtte flytte frå Jugoslavia grunna hennar italienske opphav
