I used norwegian apples because theyre on sale today. Merry christmas I suppose.
Theres a couple things id say to make your method for doing this better.
1) use a slow cooker. Go hot untill the apples turn into a soup, turn down to low heat then use a hand blender to puree the apples. Stir for occassionaly for 8 hours. The longer the better!
2) You dont need to peel apples. The skins give good flavor and should be pureed!
Doing this you will never have to do the constant stiring that regular apple butter in a suacepan requires because it will burn.
I wonder why this isnt on the shelves of a Norwegian grocery store, its easy enough to make and all, but people would eat this if they knew about it I think.
